Position Overview

The VP of Digital Operations (IT/PMO) will shape the IT vision and align technology initiatives with Evergreen’s strategic objectives. This role demands outstanding leadership and strategic thinking skills, coupled with a proven capability to drive innovation for the business within IT operations. The VP of Digital Operations will play an instrumental role in refining Evergreen’s digital infrastructure and enhancing project management practices. Reporting to the SVP of Finance & Operations, this position combines strategic leadership with active management of project workflows and business systems, ensuring operational excellence across the board.

The VP of Digital Operations is a member of the Finance & Operations team and reports to the SVP of Finance & Operations. Work can be done either in-person in our Middleton, WI office, fully remote, or hybrid.

Essential Functions

Leadership

  • Contribute to attracting, hiring, and retaining top talent to drive overall growth of Evergreen and to help maintain a collaborative culture that attracts world-class, passionate, and mission-driven employees/team members/individuals.
  • Work closely with the CEO, Chief-of-Staff, and leadership team to set the organization’s strategic direction and translate the mission and All Company goals into effective, operational strategies that ensure we meet our divisional goals and objectives.
  • Define strategies and metrics for team performance that align with Evergreen’s mission and goals and communicate these concisely.
  • Oversee strategic business initiatives from ideation to implementation. Provide support and oversight as needed.
  • Foster a culture of innovation by encouraging creativity and risk-taking.
  • Stay up to date on relevant industry best practices and trends.

People Management

  • Build a strong team by developing positive relationships, leveraging individual’s strengths, celebrating accomplishments, delivering meaningful feedback, and welcoming opportunities for improvement as a leader, on your team, and within the company.
  • Design and implement a talent framework for the delivery team that creates opportunities to progress consulting skillsets, business acumen, and content capabilities.
  • Partner with Consultant Engagement team to oversee hourly consultants as a point of escalation.
  • Meet regularly with team to unify communication, expectations, policies, procedures, escalations and to exhale any relevant company updates.
  • Meet for a minimum of 30 minutes each week with each team member to discuss overall job satisfaction, performance, opportunities for growth, ongoing projects, individual/team goals, and anything else that is important that week.
  • Coach, mentor, and develop staff by providing oversight of and insight about new employee onboarding, performance management, and career development.
  • Ensure employees understand and execute their duties within defined deadlines.
  • Delegate responsibilities to team members, as needed.
  • Ensure adherence to legal and organizational policies and procedures.

 IT & PMO  

  • Define and articulate the IT vision and strategy that aligns with and supports the organization's overarching strategic goals, ensuring IT is a business driver rather than just a support function.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of enterprise-wide IT governance frameworks to ensure a cohesive approach to technology across all business units.
  • Provide executive leadership for the Project Management Office, setting project priorities and ensuring project delivery aligns with strategic business objectives.
  • Develop and execute a forward-looking infrastructure strategy that ensures scalability, reliability, and security across global operations.
  • Collaborate as a key member of the leadership team to integrate IT with company-wide initiatives, contributing to overall business planning and strategy development.
  • Oversee large-scale budgeting and investment in technology, ensuring optimal allocation of resources and cost-effective implementation of IT initiatives.
  • Lead the development of data governance models and advanced business intelligence capabilities to enhance decision-making and competitive advantage.
  • Direct comprehensive cybersecurity strategies and frameworks to protect enterprise data and IT assets from emerging threats.
  • Manage strategic vendor partnerships and outsourcing relationships, negotiating at the executive level to secure advantageous terms and innovations.
  • Ensure all IT practices not only comply with international regulatory standards but also set benchmarks for industry best practices.

  • Serve as subject matter expert for your team and role.
  • Support colleagues and Evergreen’s growth by participating in hiring, onboarding, ongoing training, and other duties as assigned.
  • Participate in the development, documentation, and improvement of processes, procedures, and policies, in alignment with Evergreen’s mission and values.
  • Assist and back up other colleagues when necessary.
  • Embrace change as Evergreen scales systems and processes.
  • Attend Evergreen’s in-person annual retreat one time per year.
Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in information technology, or a related field.
  • Proven leadership experience in IT within a dynamic and growing organization, with a strong background in designing, developing, and implementing IT systems.
  • 5+ years of project/program management experience, ideally with experience in organizational PMO strategies and tools with a PMP or other relevant project management certifications.
  • Extensive knowledge of IT infrastructure, data analytics, cybersecurity, and privacy principles.
  • Experience with Microsoft 365 products, CRM, ATS, and financial management software.
  • Familiarity with data ETL processes, Power BI, and database administration.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage teams, develop employees, and maintain effective relationships with diverse groups including team members, managers, and vendors.
  • High level of professional integrity and ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with diplomacy.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills, combined with a strategic and business-focused mindset.
  • Outstanding communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills, with a commitment to creating a positive work environment and delivering high-quality results in a timely manner.
  • Previous experience in a consulting or professional services environment preferred.

Should you travel on-site to a client site, or a partner of Evergreen, and specific vaccinations are required by the client/partner, Evergreen does require our staff to meet these requirements. Salary Range
$150,000-$180,000, depending on experience, in addition to bonus eligibility and a comprehensive benefits package.
Work Hours + Travel Requirements
Evergreen’s core working hours are 9am – 5pm Central Time, and most of our internal meetings take place during this window. Flexible schedule available in consultation with management. If remote, travel might include annual visit to Evergreen’s headquarters in Middleton, Wisconsin.
Physical Demands

Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.  Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time.
